29 May 2018: Author Spotlight

Dr. Genevieve Crane has been an author for PathologyOutlines since Summer 2017 and now also serves as Section Editor for Hematopathology.

Dr. Crane is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY
specializing in hematopathology and will be joining the pathology department at Weill
Cornell/New York Presbyterian Hospital as an Assistant Professor this summer. There, she plans to further build her clinical interests in immunosuppression-related lymphomas and will investigate metabolic mechanisms that may underlie viral-driven lymphomagenesis. She also serves as a hematopathology section editor for Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, is the author of more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, and is passionate about pathology teaching and outreach through social media (twitter handle: @evemariecrane).

When not working, Dr. Crane enjoys boxing. She became interested in boxing while writing a review on Ramon Guiteras, a turn of the century surgeon with diverse interests and founder of the American Urologic Association. He was reportedly the only man to have knocked down the 1882-1892 heavyweight champion John L. Sullivan. Guiteras later applied his boxing technique to novel surgical approaches ( While not currently taking on sparring matches herself, she enjoys the intensity and focus boxing training brings her. She also loves dance, roller and figure skating and being outdoors.

Dr. Crane enjoys contributing to PathologyOutlines because it is a worldwide resource that
helps consolidate high yield and up to date information with the potential to serve as a
launching pad for further investigation. Through her work on social media, she has aimed to
present material in a clear, approachable manner with high quality and instructive images. She
is excited to bring these skills to PathologyOutlines to continue to build the excellent content
and utility of the site.

29 May 2018: New Superpages

We have now posted Superpages for all chapters. The Superpage contains information from all chapter topics, in alphabetical order. There is a Superpage for all content, for images and for virtual slides. Thus, you could use it to see all content on the Appendix, all Pancreas images or all Breast malignant virtual slides. The Superpage links appear in the Table of Contents just before the alphabetical list of topics. Note that they only work when accessed from our site - copying the link will not work.

We also updated the related Jobs, Fellowships, Conferences, Cases and CME at the beginning of each chapter, so all should be working.
