27 May 2016: Case of the Week - Not Accepting Cases

Currently, we are not accepting cases due to high case volume in our queue. We will resume accepting cases on August 1, 2016. If you send a case before this date, we will add your case to our 'Stored Cases' database in the meantime, and will contact you again in mid August after Dr. Pernick has reviewed your case contribution.

Please make sure all case contributions follow these guidelines:

1. At minimum, include a case description with a short clinical history, diagnosis and associated gross / micro images; discussion is optional 
2. Images must be separate attachments, exceptional quality and each image at least 300 KB (JPG, GIF, TIFF format) 
3. Case diagnosis must be confirmed by at least 2 pathologists 
4. Include mailing address (U.S / Canada only) to receive payment by check, or include username to receive payment by PayPal ($50 per case)
5. Must be willing to respond to inquiries about the case 
6. May send up to 3 cases per year; if you contribute more, the additional cases will be held to post the following year
7. Please give us 1 week to review your case before contacting us again

Note: case contributions that do not follow the guidelines will not be accepted.

25 May 2016: New Management Article and Product Questionnaires Posted


We posted a new article on our Management Page earlier today: How Offshore Billing Services Will Impact Your Practice's Bottom Line, by Cody Raich, Vachette Pathology. Keep your eyes open for another article to be posted in a couple of weeks.


We also recently posted a few new Product Questionnaires. These can help pathologists compare and contrast the various products and services offered by participating companies. Creative Diagnostics, Rowley Biochemical and Quidel Corporation have new questionnaires located under Diagnostic Testing Kits/ Reagents, and Rowley Biochemical has a new questionnaire under Histology Products and Services. We will post additional information as it is received.

18 May 2016: Social Media Advertising


As of today, we have 5,267 followers on Twitter and 7,622 likes (business equivalent to “friends”) on Facebook. Are you following PathologyOutlines.com on social media? If not, you may be missing out on quick access to updates, and occasional advertiser giveaways and specials, that are found on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Most recently, Mopec posted information about how to enter to win a free dissecting kit. Not only did someone win a dissecting kit, but Mopec reported an increase in followers across social channels and an increase in engagement and impressions. A win-win!

3 May 2016: Another author for Case of the Week discussions needed

We are looking for a second author to write the Case of the Week discussions, so we can get ahead by several weeks, and are covered when one author goes on leave or has a busy period.  You must be a staff pathologist and a good writer.  The advantages are getting known by the 6000+ subscribers to this feature, as well as $75 per case discussion.  The initial time commitment is 2-3 hours per week.  When we are caught up, it will be less.  If interested, contact Dr. Pernick at NatPernick@gmail.com, and attach your CV and a writing sample.
