24 March 2016: Increase exposure to your publications

Increase exposure to your publications by emailing NatPernick@gmail.com your extra pictures from your articles, which will be posted with a link to the article.  Note: we are particularly interested in publications of use to practicing pathologists, which relate to topics which are or should be posted at PathologyOutlines.com.

24 March 2016: USCAP recap and pictures

We had a successful experience at the USCAP 2016 conference this year. We enjoyed talking to everyone who stopped by the booth. We took away some ideas which will be discussed and hopefully implemented in the year to come. We posted all the pictures we took on our Facebook page, but here are some as well:

12 March 2016: Website should be back to normal

Our website should be back to normal after some slowness on Thursday, and some brief down time tonight.  We apologize for any inconvenience, and are working to ensure it does not happen again.  We have been making a lot of changes, and although we have been careful, we have seen some unintended consequences of some activities.  Let us know if you spot any problems.

11 March 2016: Please visit us at USCAP 2016 in Seattle!

We will be exhibiting at the USCAP 2016 conference in Seattle this year, booth #1012. Please come by to see what's new, to get your picture taken for our blog and social media sites, to talk with Dr. Pernick for a few minutes regarding our website and get a baseball cap. We can show you the new Superpages, how to become a Member of PathologyOutlines, and our new Books pages.

Interested pathologists should also stop by to discuss how to become an Author.

We look forward to seeing you there next week!

9 March 2016: The Flint Child Health & Development Fund will receive our charitable donations for the first half of 2016

As you may know, we contribute 10% of all earnings through our website due to Amazon sales, and now Elsevier sales, to a charity.  For the first half of 2016, we have designated the charity to be the Flint Child Health & Development Fund, which was started by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha of Hurley Medical Center and Michigan State University, who has been at the forefront of this issue.

8 March 2016: Books page live, new affiliate relationship with Elsevier

Our new Books page is now live - test it out and let us know what you think, or if you have any questions.

We have started an affiliate relationship with Elsevier, in which they pay us 8% of the price of all of their books purchased through links on our website.  This is an alternative to Amazon links.  Currently, we have a link to Scheuer: Liver Biopsy Interpretation on the Home Page, and to Lefkowitch: Anatomic Pathology Board Review on various pages, and are adding a few new links every day.  We have kept the Amazon link, and put it at the end of the description on the Books page.  Let us know your experience with purchasing directly from Elsevier online.

8 March 2016: View prior Jobs, Fellowships and Conferences pages

We have now posted versions of the Jobs, Fellowships by Specialty and State / Country, and Conferences pages as of February 1, 2016 and March 1, 2016

If you need to look up a prior ad, we maintain these files as of the first of each month (or close to it). See files below:

As of February 2016: Jobs, Fellowships by Specialty, Fellowships by State / CountryConferences

As of March 2016: Jobs, Fellowships by SpecialtyFellowships by State / Country, Conferences

The format is the name of the file, plus yyyymm, where yyyy is the year and mm is the month.  So, for example, jobs posted as of February 1, 2016 are at http://pathologyoutlines.com/jobs201602.html.

4 March 2016: New Books page, Superpages are back

We will soon launch our new Books page, currently with ~1280 pathology related books.  It uses a database structure, which means the books are listed similarly in all places.  Books are listed by date posted, by publisher and by specialty, and there is a search feature by Author and Title words.  Authors - check to make sure we have all of your books posted.  In general, we try to post all books of interest to pathologists posted in 2012 or later, and available on Amazon.com.  Books not posted at Amazon.com can be posted for a modest fee - contact Sara at PathoutAds@gmail.com or 284/646-0325 for details.

Superpages are back.  These pages contain all content in all topics for a Chapter on one (sometimes large) page.  They are dynamically generated from the current topic pages, which means they always contain the latest content.  Currently, they are available for the Adrenal gland, Ampulla, Appendix, CD Markers and Stains chapters.  The link is at the end of the standard Table of Contents.  As we convert each chapter to our new format, we will add a Superpage link.

Contact us with any questions at CommentsPathout@gmail.com or 248/646-0325.

4 March 2016: Monthly Statistics for February 2016
