26 January 2016: We have posted updated reviews of the following topics:

26 January 2016: Pathologist Jobs Report now available for 4th quarter of 2015

We have now posted the Pathologist jobs report for the fourth quarter of 2015, click here.  It begins:

For this quarter, there were 138 job postings for full time or part time pathologists at PathologyOutlines.com, which form the basis for the statistics below. This is a 14% increase from the 121 job postings in the third quarter of 2014. We have excluded postings that were only for locum, PhD, residency, fellowship or non-Pathologist positions. Of the 138 postings, 134 were for 1 position, 2 were for 2 positions, and 2 were for an unspecified amount greater than 1 position.

Rest of report.

25 January 2016: New books database

We are starting to add books to our new books database.  The advantages of this major change are: (a) all books will have a standard format, (b) books will be searchable by words in the title, any author, year and specialty, (c) changes / errors will be fixed wherever a book appears, (d) there will now only be one static books page, and multiple dynamic pages created when you do a search, (e) our staff will be more productive (once all the books are added), which means we can work on other things!

For now, the links go to the "old" books pages.  I anticipate that we will switch the links to the new page by the USCAP meeting.  However, it is possible to access the new page using the links at the bottom of the chapter pages.  For now, some books may appear twice, but this will be cleaned up when all the books are added to the database.

8 January 2016: Updating the Textbook

It is an overwhelming task to keep our free online textbook up to date, but we are working towards a goal of updating each topic every 2 years.  At approximately 7,000 topics, this means posting 70 updates a week.  Since we started keeping track in May 2015, we have updated 191 topics.  Currently we are averaging 8 topic updates per week, so we have a ways to go.

As of today, we have 6 active Editors and 33 active Authors, with a goal of 20 Editors and 60 Authors by the end of 2016.  Qualifications for Authors are listed on our Instructions for Authors page.  If you meet these qualifications, want to help pathologists worldwide, and are NOT motivated primarily by money, please email NatPernick@gmail.com your CV and indicate your areas of interest.
